Description
Recent Wisconsin literacy legislation requires all Wisconsin schools to provide science-based early literacy instruction in both universal and intervention settings. In an effort to support districts to proactively examine current literacy vision, systems, and structures and plan for a smoother implementation and transition of 2023 Wisconsin Act 20 requirements, we invite you to join us for this two-part series at CESA 5.
The CESA 5 literacy team will guide district teams to proactively reflect on the current state of literacy systems, structures, vision, and resources in an effort to prioritize action steps. Work to keep one step ahead so that when Act 20 timelines arrive, your system is prepared to implement change in an already working system focused on continuous literacy improvement and meeting the needs of learners who struggle with reading. On both dates, teams will have time and space to devote to planning and collaboration with support from CESA 5.
Since this series is intended for collective strategic planning and decision-making, it is recommended that participants attend in teams.
Recommended team membership: C&I Director, Special Education Director, Elementary Principal(s), Reading Specialist, Literacy Leaders
