Description

Act 20 has placed a spotlight on the development of early literacy and foundational reading skills across the state of Wisconsin. But what about learners in the upper grades who have fallen through the cracks in our systems or missed out on critical learning? What can intermediate and secondary educators do to intentionally plan for and support learning in the upper grades? Join us for this high-impact workshop that elevates adolescent literacy across all content areas throughout the school day.

Led by an expert trainer from Keys to Literacy, educators will learn about research-based comprehension and writing strategies to support listening and reading comprehension in any subject area regardless of curricular materials. This event will support educators by bringing a sharper lens to comprehension and critical literacy in classrooms. With intentional planning and instructional practices that are directly connected to literacy research and the science of reading, we can close gaps and support our learners in all content areas.
