Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS)
Four-session series, in-person, volume 1 (units 1-4)
LETRS is an empowering professional development course of study for instructors of reading, spelling, and related language skills. It provides knowledge and tools that teachers can use with any good reading program.
This four-session series will provide:
- In-depth knowledge based on the most current research regarding what, when, and how language skills need to be taught
- Ways to assess student language development for prevention and intervention
- Guidance on how to plan and balance word recognition and comprehension instruction
- Information on how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
Audience:
Elementary Teachers, Reading Specialists, Instructional Coaches, EL and Special Education Teachers, Interventionists, and Administration
Participants of the summer LETRS cohort should be aware that the recommended pacing for content is typically one year. The same content will be condensed into a more rigorous 3-month timeline.

Districts will be invoiced on June 3, 2024. At that time, cancellations will not be accepted, and refunds will not be allowed. Registration is transferrable to a staff member in your district. This supersedes our regular cancellation policy.
